DC vs GT
Sai Sudharshan and Shubman Gill outdid KL Rahul’s extraordinary hundred by leading Gujarat Titans into the playoffs and passing both RCB and PBKS into top two; an important victory, given that only one team outside these elite two has ever managed to claim IPL glory.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, DC batted first and were reduced to 14/3 at five overs. But Rahul soon made his comeback into their innings and helped DC reach 220; seemingly on track until momentum was lost through some key player exits during crucial points in play.
Buttler then came out to bat and played an outstanding innings, striking cleanly while attacking Starc especially relentlessly, scoring seven boundaries and two sixes in the process – and propelling himself to the top of the runs table in spectacular style.
GT lost Gill early but had Sai Sudharshan and Sherfane Rutherford as openers to depend on. These openers made short work of their chase, taking their team comfortably through with four balls to spare – this being GT’s inaugural 10-wicket win and best performance of this season as both players shared a 205-run partnership and reached 600 runs during this campaign.
Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans both aim to strengthen their positions in the top half of the table, and on Saturday afternoon they meet at Arun Jaitley Stadium with both sides boasting potency bowling attacks that should make for an entertaining clash. Expect high scores as both matches could go to extra innings!
This season has been one of great surprises for the Titans. No one gave them much chance of defending their inaugural season crown but they came within striking distance of doing just that – now on the cusp of qualifying for play-offs.
Shubman Gill’s young side has been impressive, particularly with both bat and ball. Their success against DC means victory here will move them one step closer to breaking into the top-four spots.
Mitchell Starc will certainly miss from DC, but they seem to be managing well without him. Chinalle Henry is leading DC with bat in hand while debutant fast bowler Nandini Sharma has shown promise with her debut. Kagiso Rabada and Mustafizur Rahman may feature, though neither are expected as they prepare for Bangladesh’s T20I series in Sharjah.

Their batsmen including skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have been unstoppable while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna remain consistent bowlers.
Delhi Capitals remain in strong contention to make the playoffs, having an additional game in hand on each of the top four sides and their recent win against Rajasthan Royals as proof.
Axar Patel’s side are filled with talent and will hope to continue their impressive performance when they host Gujarat at Narendra Modi Stadium on July 11.
This high-octane clash promises to be an exciting one, with conditions being ideal for cricket – temperature to remain at around 42degC and no rain interruptions anticipated.
Both teams boast power hitters who could capitalise on these batter-friendly conditions; Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans could prove instrumental, while Kagiso Rabada Mitchell Starc and Mohit Sharma will play key roles for Delhi Capitals.
