Babar Azam

Babar Azam is an outstanding batsman who can play across all formats of cricket. Known for his calm temperament and strategic awareness, his leadership skills have inspired confidence within his team, while his impressive batting has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s improved form in recent times – in 2023 World Cup alone he helped Pakistan advance to semi-finals by scoring several crucial runs that ensured Pakistan reached semi-finals!

As Pakistan’s second-most prolific run scorer across all forms of cricket, Amir is currently the country’s second most prolific run scorer with 3,500 runs across all formats in his career and recently broke former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad’s record of most runs in a calendar year – becoming the fastest Pakistani to reach that milestone in one day internationals cricket.

Additionally, he became one of the fastest Pakistanis ever to reach 1,000 runs in one day internationals cricket.

With new players joining, Pakistan National Cricket Team has revised their squad and tactics in order to perform better, reaching fourth position in ICC Test rankings, eighth in ODI ratings and ninth in T20I ratings. They now look forward to an exciting 2019 with many achievements and fixtures ahead.

Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan made waves after Pakistan won the 2015 World Cup. He immediately made an impression behind the stumps and also managed to score over 60 runs in each of his first eight innings before his weaknesses became exposed against tougher opposition, prompting Sarfaraz Ahmed to replace him as their limited-overs wicketkeeper.

Rizwan remains a highly skilled cricketer, having taken part in two ICC Champions Trophy tournaments since 2015. Unfortunately, his absence from Sarfaraz’s final squad for England and Ireland tour this month suggests he still does not feature as part of Sarfaraz’s plans.

Rizwan was instrumental in Pakistan’s 197-run partnership for the second wicket with Babar Azam against Sri Lanka – this record-setting total was the highest ever in T20Is while chasing.

Additionally, he represented his team at the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup and helped them advance to reach the semi-finals.

Prior to the next Test series starting, Noman Ali or Abdullah Fazl should be given an opportunity to play first-class cricket before Farhan Maaz and Saud return home and are likely to open the batting for Pakistan again at home.

Given this situation, Noman Ali or Fazl should receive more opportunities domestically to hone their skills before facing international opposition again.

Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman is a Pakistani cricketer known for his left-handed opening batsman style of play for Lahore Qalandars and Pakistan National Cricket Team.

Born in Katlang district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province but relocated to Karachi after finishing matriculation he began professional cricket at 16 in Pakistan Navy before turning professional cricketer.

In 2023, Zaman made history when he became the first Pakistani ever to score two consecutive Twenty20 International centuries in one tournament – gaining him selection for the 2023 ODI World Cup squad and scoring 193 before being run out by Quinton de Kock in the final. Zaman led Pakistan with 194 runs scored while also being nominated for Man of the Match award.

As soon as he made his ODI debut against Australia, he quickly established himself as a powerhouse. After scoring five centuries in five ODI innings including two double hundreds he became the fastest Pakistani to reach 1,000 ODI runs. Due to his impressive batting prowess he was selected in Pakistan’s Test squad to travel Ireland and England during 2018.

Pakistan made history during their inaugural Test against New Zealand as they scored 296 runs in only 57.3 overs, the fastest Test chase ever seen.

Though they lost by only two wickets, Pakistan managed to retain their No.1 position in ICC Test rankings despite this setback.

Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock is an exciting left-handed wicketkeeper batsman who plays domestic cricket for Titans before representing South Africa across all white ball formats.

Widely lauded for his aggressive yet impactful style of play and drawing comparisons with Adam Gilchrist for his ability to score match-winning runs from lower down the order, De Kock quickly become one of domestic cricket’s hottest prospects during 2012/13 when his performance in Champions League T20 caught the attention of national selectors who fast tracked his ODI debut later that year.

De Kock has shown his versatility across all formats of cricket. He was an essential member of the Proteas side that won the 2023 ICC World Test Championship Mace, as well as contributing to their impressive 5-0 series victory against England.

De Kock hit an unbeaten 123 off 119 balls for South Africa to help reach 269. Pakistani pace bowlers led by leg-spinner Mohammad Amir had difficulty keeping up with de Kock, and were punished for any lack of discipline on the field.

Proteas will face Pakistan in a two-test and three-ODI series starting October 12 in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Temba Bavuma will miss due to a grade-two calf injury; Aiden Markram will lead in his place while Donovan Ferreira will captain one-off T20I after Tests conclude.

Aiden Markram

Though relatively new to first-class cricket, Markram has already proven his worth as a consistent performer. Already having amassed over 500 ODI runs and four centuries he led Northerns through some successful campaigns; marking himself out as an exceptional captain during 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup when leading them all the way until final against India was lost.

Markram made an outstanding debut season for Hyderabad in the 2023 Mzansi Super League, scoring 362 runs at an average of 63 and becoming top scorer for his side – also being honored as Player of the Tournament award winner.

Pakistan’s Test side had an uneven season, finishing fifth in the rankings after touring England and UAE. Their victory at the Champions Trophy provided much-needed morale boost.

Pakistan’s veteran players will play an essential role in this series. Left-armer Sajid Khan must rediscover his form; having played only two first-class matches since February, much will depend on how well he performs in this series. Noman Ali must also find his touch if Pakistan are to emerge victorious from it all. The ODI series will take place at Sheikhupura Stadium.

David Miller

David Miller is a South African cricketer who represents their national team. On 15 October 2017, he made his T20 international debut for South Africa against Pakistan, scoring an unbeaten century in an innings. At this match, breaking records for fastest T20 international 100s along the way.

Pakistan earned Test status in 1952 and played their inaugural Test against India at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground (now Arun Jaitley Stadium) in Delhi.

They struggled to establish themselves at a top-level of world cricket until Imran Khan led his side into regular tournament contention through Imran Khan Cup tournaments during the 80s – during this period they produced some of cricket’s finest fast bowlers such as Wasim Akram, Mohammad Younis and Waqar Younis – becoming regulars late into tournaments under Imran’s leadership and produced some fearsome fast bowlers such as Wasim Akram, Mohammad Younis and Waqar Younis among many others – giving world cricket a competitive edge!

Pakistan have made rapid strides forward in recent years when it comes to T20 cricket, reaching the semi-finals at both 2010 and 2022 World T20 tournaments, and regularly competing with some of the best sides worldwide.

Pakistan and South Africa’s rivalry is one of the most exciting in global cricket. Both teams boast world-class players with long histories of competitive matches between them, often producing memorable encounters and exciting tournament finals. Both nations regularly face each other in one-day internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 internationals (2022 was an example of high scoring thriller).
