Pakistan and India have long sought to disprove the stereotype that they were subjects of their former colonial masters. On Saturday, both countries delivered this message directly to their peoples through cricket.
Fatima Sana bowled an outside-off full delivery that Shafali expertly hit between cover and midwicket for four. In this article, we will discuss about the main point of matches of India National Cricket Team Vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Match Scorecard.
Bowling
Indian bowling department is unarguably among the strongest in world cricket, as evidenced by its many victories and top spots on ICC rankings in previous seasons. They boast fast bowlers who can take wickets easily; several even excelled during T20 World Cup events.
India began their T20 World Cup campaign strongly, defeating Ireland and Pakistan in their initial two matches. Their match against archrival Pakistan on June 5 in New York will undoubtedly draw attention as an important contest between both teams.
Before the match, both teams have made several changes to their squads. While India have retained most of their regular players, Pakistan have brought in some new faces; including second-string seamers and specialist spinners as a means of strengthening their side.
India have been impressive at maintaining their consistency during Group A of the T20 World Cup, winning both of their opening matches against Ireland and Pakistan with ease. India are also set to face archrival Pakistan on June 5, which should provide one of the most anticipated matches of this tournament.
ESPN Cricinfo reported that former cricketers Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal have been appointed bowling coaches for their national teams, respectively. Gul will coach Pakistan’s fast bowlers while Ajmal will work with Pakistani spinners. Both men have long been associated with cricket; previously coaching domestic white-ball sides as well as coaching in Twenty20 World Cup events together.
Regarding India’s squad, Gautam Gambhir has confirmed that Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate will join him as assistant coaches, with T Dilip continuing as fielding coach. South African bowling coach Morne Morkel may soon be named, though he won’t travel on their Sri Lanka tour.
Batting
India started off well against Pakistan after they won the coin-toss and batted first, as Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma made solid contributions in their chase of 120 runs or more. Unfortunately, their batsmen failed to find success thereafter as India struggled to make more runs than 120 on board.
Jasprit Bumrah’s superb bowling turned the match in India’s favor, and they came within striking distance of victory. Bumrah was supported by Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Mohammad Siraj who all bowled economically to set India back onto track for victory.
Pakistan batting department wasted many opportunities during its run chase; Mohammad Rizwan was its highest run scorer with 31 runs; but their remaining batting unit failed to make an impression and were all out for only 113 total runs.
India women hold an advantage, needing only eight more runs to win their match against France women. Nashra Sandhu comes into bowl a final over and quickly dispatches Dayalan Hemalatha by throwing an underhand shot that hits top middle stump. Harmanpreet Kaur now at bat will need to hit a six off the final ball to bring victory home for India.
She starts cautiously, hitting two singles off the first two deliveries to midwicket and third man for singles off both deliveries. After misjudging her lofted shot over long-on, she hits straight drive to sweeper cover for another single run to reach 45 off 41 balls.
India have an easy target to meet as they close out their innings with one final over. Mandhana and Verma hit singles to midwicket, third man, and sweeper cover; Hemalatha scored four by running up and cutting one past backward point; however, for them to win this game she must hit an aggressive six in her final over.
Fielding
Pakistan was struggling for runs, yet their fielding department still displayed plenty of fight and determination to remain in the match. Their bowlers also did well at restricting India’s runs in the first innings; however, in the second innings Indian batsmen were given an absolute beating by Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian fielders keeping pressure on the Pakistan batting lineup.
Indian bowlers were uncompromising in their approach and ensured they did not permit Pakistan batters to build any partnerships, while regularly picking off wickets with off-spinner Shreyanka Patil (2/14) packing off Riaz with her catch by Hemalatha Hemalatha at midwicket.
Hemalatha and Kaur added two runs before the end of their over with two dot balls and a single to deep midwicket off Nashra Sandhu, before Nashra Sandhu dismissed Hemalatha by having Tuba Hassan catch her while trying to loft an up-off delivery over cover-point.
Mandhana made four runs off Tuba Hassan with a slog-sweep and paddle to fine leg before hitting two full legbreaks over cover and extra cover before finally being bowled by getting too close to the pitch and not making contact with her ball.
Pakistan then fell apart rapidly as they lost four wickets within four overs, with Harid Rauf removing Hardik Pandya with just his fourth delivery and Jasprit Bumrah taking advantage of this to remove Shadab Khan in subsequent overs. And in the final over, Imad Wasim was out attempting to steal a run off Arshdeep Singh with a straighter arm bowled ball that had an inside edge – expertly held by Pant. Pakistan innings ended at 119/3. On a day when they had the chance to put up an impressive total, Bangladesh were left disappointed. Hoping to improve upon their performance when taking on Afghanistan in their next match – scheduled for June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Runs
Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma mesmerised Pakistan with fours and sixes all over the ground, creating a 95-run partnership in just 10 overs that set India up perfectly for victory.
Shafali’s partnership ended abruptly when Syeda Aroob Shah bowled her for 40 runs off 29 balls by getting the ball to creep up and hit her pads behind the back foot – she couldn’t get her bat down quickly enough and was bowled.
Hemalatha batted with care initially, taking singles through midwicket and third man and misjudging a lofted shot to sweeper cover. But in her next over, Hemalatha got herself into trouble by playing an unwise pull off a short delivery from Nashra Sandhu that Hena Malik caught at deep backward square leg.
Indians lost two more wickets in the final over of their first innings as pacer Pooja Vastrakar (2/31) dispatched Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali with quick strikes by pacer Pooja Vastrakar (2/31). Vastrakar was dropped off a short delivery by Radha Yadav while Pakistan skipper Nida Dar (c), was run out unable to negotiate her way out of tight situations.
India lost Sidra Amin to an amazing catch by Iram Javed at backward point off Renuka Singh (2/14) as she attempted to cut short deliveries short, however Pakistan captain Nida Dar, along with Fatima Sana and Tuba Hassan made an encouraging start in their chase of 338 runs for victory.
As the overs progressed, however, it became apparent that Pakistani was losing momentum, eventually finishing on 119/7 – well below par for them. Pro-India support initially seemed muted until Pakistan lost their fourth wicket; then celebrations among supporters started up again when India lost five wickets themselves before finally abandoning their match due to precarious situation – though no decision has been taken regarding future ODI series that may or may not take place in Delhi.
