Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is an Indian cricketer. He currently represents Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League and Delhi domestic cricket, captaining India across Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 internationals and leading them to several successes such as winning 2011 ODI World Cup and 2024 ICC T20 World Cup titles.
Kohli made his ODI debut for Delhi in 2004 and played an instrumental role in winning the 2006 Asia Cup. In 2012 he was honored as ODI Player of the Year; currently, he holds both Test and ODI batsman rankings.
At MS Dhoni’s injury-stricken injury in 2013, he took over as captain for India against West Indies in three-country series against them and led them well. Subsequently he was appointed Test captain.
Additionally he has notched many ODI hundreds, including two double centuries, and also proved himself as a good bowler within domestic cricket.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma, widely dubbed The Hitman, is one of the most destructive batsmen in white ball cricket. Known for making quick hundreds and surpassing even Virender Sehwag as India’s premier batsman since 2009, Rohit is an amazing finisher capable of hitting huge sixes to become unplayable when on form.
In 2024, he earned the ICC T20I Player of the Tournament honor after leading India to victory in league phase and scoring three half-centuries. Additionally, he captained India at their inaugural Champions Trophy win since its introduction.
Although he retired from Test cricket prior to India’s 2023 tour of England, he remains an integral member of India’s limited-overs squad and his experience will prove invaluable for their younger players.
Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill is one of India’s most exciting young batsmen. At 20 years old, he became the youngest Indian ever to score an ODI double century and boasts immense talent.
Right-handed opening batter is an exceptional player who excels at hitting. His footwork is superb and his aggression makes him a major threat at the top of the lineup.
Gill demonstrated his quality during India’s historic series win Down Under by scoring an important 91 at The Gabba and playing an integral part in India’s historic series win.
Gill has also excelled at the 2025 Champions Trophy, leading India’s strong batting lineup to two victories and scoring a century – breaking an India-Australia hoodoo at Edgbaston along the way.
KL Rahul
KL Rahul is one of the most determined, composed, and talented batsmen in contemporary cricket. Following an outstanding domestic season for Karnataka as well as participating in India A’s tour of Australia in 2016, he earned himself a Test call-up as well as making both ODI and T20I debuts that same year.
After initially struggling to establish himself as a regular opener, Rahane finally secured a regular slot during 2020 with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and made an impressionful statement at the 2021 ICC World Cup he was elevated as T20I/ODI vice-captain of India.
Since then, he has become one of India’s premier batsmen across all formats, earning praise from some of cricket’s biggest names – Rahul Dravid among them – seeking guidance for technical matters from him regularly.
Furthermore, he was an effective IPL run machine and scored several unbeaten hundreds to cement himself into Test opening combination.
Babar Azam
Babar Azam is an impressive right-handed top-order batsman who represents Pakistan internationally. A highly fashionable player, Azam employs balance, classical technique and timing to dominate against fast bowlers while building innings against quality attacks with his impeccable shot selection and composure at the crease. Azam currently captains Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League.
Azam Siddiqui was born and raised in Lahore’s Walled City where his father Mohammad Azam ran a watch repair shop. Azam began as a ball boy before eventually joining a local cricket academy.
Representing Pakistan at all levels of cricket (Under-19 and Under-21 teams, Champions Trophy 2017 squad etc), including being selected in 2017 Champions Trophy squad that ultimately won tournament!
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Shaheen Afridi is one of Pakistan’s premier seam bowlers and one of the most effective limited-overs bowlers. Using his height and length to generate bounce and movement in his delivery, and using swing shots to strike at will. An integral member of Pakistan’s bowling attack, Afridi has taken key wickets both in Test matches and T20Is.
Though still young, Afridi possesses all of the tools to become an elite international cricketer. Since debuting as an ODI player, he has become a top wicket-taker and key member of Pakistan’s squad – not forgetting his destructive bowling ability, capable of striking fear into any batsman’s heart.
Shaheen Afridi, son of celebrated Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, boasts an imposing physique and can swing the bat hard like his father did. Fast bowler with immense potential who takes wickets quickly in short succession is another one-two punch in Afridi’s arsenal.
Haris Rauf
Haris Rauf is a fast bowler from Pakistan. Currently playing for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League and Northern in first-class cricket, Haris has made himself known as an effective short format bowler who can deliver both pace and bounce to his deliveries.
Rauf made headlines when he made a gesture towards India fans that provoked wide condemnation during their match with Pakistan, in response to taunts from Indian fans, which demonstrated just how intense India-Pakistan rivalries can become.
Rauf was able to perform well despite this controversy and take two wickets during the match; India eventually won by six wickets; an indication of both their teamwork and resilience of its players.
Naseem Shah
Pakistan has long been renowned for producing fast bowling stars, and Naseem Shah is the latest. Earning his maiden Test selection during Australia tour in late 2019, despite only five first-class matches played, this right-arm pacer shows immense promise with regards to pace levels, discipline and swing/seam ability.
MS Dhoni stands alone as India’s only international captain to win a World Cup title, leading the Men in Blue to victory at the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. Dhoni replaced Azharuddin after his poor showing at the 1998 Cricket World Cup; further strengthened India’s team through Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble joining their ranks.
Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya emerged into the limelight as an all-round performer – possessing explosive batting, superb fielding, and penetrative bowling abilities.
He made a big impactful statement in IPL 2016, helping Mumbai Indians win another championship while winning two Man of the Match awards for his performances.
National team selected him for their 2022 World Cup squad and he performed admirably as an auxiliary bowler and batsman, contributing immensely to both aspects. However, workload management proved to be difficult which impaired his performance significantly.
He then returned to his comfort zone – the IPL. He was appointed captain of Mumbai Indians, taking over from longstanding skipper Rohit Sharma, and has become an integral part of their franchise’s juggernaut and an essential component in India’s national team setup – becoming one of its finest all-rounders since.
Ravindra Jadeja
Hardik Pandya deserves all the credit for India’s impressive Asia Cup triumph, but Jadeja was also instrumental to their triumphant victory. As an all-rounder who excels both in Tests and shorter formats he is hard to be beaten on most surfaces.
As part of India’s Champions Trophy victory in 2013, Kuldeep Yadav cemented his place among the elite spinners in world cricket. Working alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, he has consistently troubled opposition batting line-ups with his exceptional wrist spin and wicket-taking ability. Although he experienced an average IPL season in 2023, Kuldeep regained his rhythm and has since become a key performer for India in white-ball cricket.
His ability to control the middle overs and deliver breakthroughs makes him an indispensable member of the squad. As discussions around India National Cricket Team Vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Players continue to attract cricket fans worldwide, Kuldeep Yadav remains one of the standout bowlers capable of making a decisive impact in high-pressure clashes against Pakistan.
