Arshdeep made an immediate impact from the outset. Hailing from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, Arshdeep’s ability to utilize conditions was immediately evident on this pitch; he quickly got to grips with it before bowling his trademark tight line and length delivery that targeted stumps at one end and caused misery for Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie’s veteran pairing.
At times he bowled well; other deliveries didn’t rise much above knee roll – yet overall his bowling performance was outstanding. His efforts were rewarded when he scored his third wicket in the fifth over. Axar Patel took an excellent catch after trying to play leg side but being caught off guard, Balbirnie tried playing it leg side but was dismissed outright!
