But Sunrisers Hyderabad were set on breaking the IPL record for highest total with Heinrich Klaasen leading them. Tim David gave him an early reprieve when he dropped him at mid-off off Bumrah’s first ball; but that did not derail Klaasen from producing an amazing innings with Travis Head as part of an unbroken partnership.
These two were involved in an incredible 121-run stand for the fourth wicket, but once they fell, SRH were in control and reached 177/6 after 17 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah turned on the heat in the final over, hitting an unforgettable six that hit edge and edge and was caught at slip. Furthermore, this game witnessed record number of sixes hit during this final over. A fitting end to an exciting contest – both teams ended on an upbeat note!

SRH’s middle order then collapsed in spectacular fashion and their score quickly began to slide away from them, until captain Pat Cummins and Tilak Varma rallied behind them with an outstanding partnership that kept SRH competitive in pursuit.
Bumrah made an excellent start to his over, conceding only two runs from his initial over. From then on he continued with fuller deliveries that caught the inside edge of bat and crashed into stumps, giving Bumrah the edge.
Suryakumar Yadav deftly played a slower ball to sweeper cover for a boundary and restored SRH’s hopes, taking an 18-ball advantage.
Hardik Pandya will begin his second game of the season this week and look to replicate the form he displayed last season when he was the go-to man for Mumbai Indians.
He starts off well as the ball rolls past Kishan but is then disappointed as an umpire incorrectly calls it wide, prompting him to go back and look for his rhythm before finally striking again and sending Nitish Reddy packing! The over ended as soon as this hit home.
