RCB vs PBKS 2025 Qualifier 1
The match between Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore did not live up to expectations as Punjab succumbed to their tight bowling attack. They will get another chance in tomorrow’s Eliminator matchup between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.
RCB were on track to make it to their fourth final in this decade with ease, going about it in an efficient manner and winning with 10 overs remaining. Their top order did the damage early, setting the pace and ending their success story quickly.
Phil Salt and Virat Kohli started off RCB’s chase well as they both hit clean shots to reach 30 in each over. By the fourth over RCB had reached 97/6 before Kyle Jamieson got moving with the ball, eventually dismissing Kohli before disconcerting Mayank Agarawal as PBKS struggled in their chase.
Shaun Marsh’s unbeaten 51-ball 74 helped them post an admirable total of 232/6; unfortunately this still wasn’t enough to cause an upset and Piyush Chawla was their star bowler, taking 3-24 wickets.
Musheer Khan found Rajat Patidar on the long-on boundary in the final over, who made no error with his stroke and punched the ball past midwicket for a six to seal RCB’s win and all four previous encounters between these sides. They will now meet either Mumbai Indians or Gujarat Titans in the final of IPL Playoffs/Knockout 2019.
RCB vs PBKS 2025 Qualifier 2
As Qualifier 2 concludes in dramatic fashion, RCB and PBKS will square off in the final of Indian Premier League 2025 for their chance at glory. It marks a first in IPL history: two sides who have never before won it will compete head to head. No team has lost in three previous finals before this one, making RCB eligible to complete an unprecedented clean sweep of IPL trophies by winning this one too!
Punjab was limited to an underpar total thanks to a valiant performance from RCB bowlers, led by Bhuvi and Hazlewood who effectively stalled Punjab batsmen from getting going in the closing stages. Krunal also played his part in keeping run rates in check by taking key wickets like Prabhsimran and Josh Inglis and keeping their run rates under control.
RCB batsmen put on an excellent show to ensure a one-sided final. KL Rahul scored an amazing unbeaten 132 from 69 balls with 14 fours and seven sixes – his highest ever score in an IPL final and instrumental in helping chase down an enormous target of 217 runs.
Virat Kohli made an exceptional start to his innings for RCB. After hitting a six and four off his opening two deliveries, before smashing another four from two subsequent balls he reached his fifty in just 29 balls – setting himself up nicely for a big innings.
Hardik Pandya took an exceptional catch at long-off to catch Virat Kohli and send him back, making history by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to achieve five wickets in an IPL final match-winning performance for himself.
18 years in the making, Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans finally found themselves celebrating IPL glory – something they had done eagerly since Malleshwaram to Marathalli. Chants of “Ee sala cup namdu” could be heard throughout Bengaluru; an incredible moment that their supporters should appreciate with great fervor! RCB fans deservedly celebrated it to its fullest extent!
RCB vs PBKS 2025 Qualifier 3
With four final appearances each, RCB and PBKS have become mainstays in IPL history but none has won the trophy yet. Social media often refers to them as the IPL Holy Trinity – though some might use that term disdainfully – though there’s no doubt these teams are both superior teams.
On Tuesday night at NSCI Stadium in Ahmedabad, two teams are set to come face to face in what promises to be a fierce encounter.
Both have won two matches this season and boast good records against one another going into this matchup.
It will likely create an electric atmosphere as both teams look to break through and claim their first IPL crown.
RCB have consistently had the edge in this fixture against PBKS over time – and their most impressive victory against them came during IPL 2015.
Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 117 to help RCB post 226/3 before bowling out PBKS for just 88 runs in an easy win by 111 runs in Bengaluru. KL Rahul from RCB holds the record score against PBKS in this fixture with his unbeaten 132 score helping guide them to six wicket victory in Dharamsala in 2016.
Yuzvendra Chahal will look to build on his growing reputation as an IPL finals specialist in this match against Pune BK SR Kings (PBKS), MI (Qualifier 2) as they bowler took two wickets and helped slow the hosts after an explosive start in their chase. Chahal played for eight seasons with MI and will still be considered a teammate by them today.
Fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been anticipating this moment for 18 long years – the time has finally arrived for them to celebrate after all their hope, despair, rapture and ruin! Now is finally their moment; they can celebrate together with fellow Bangaloreans chanting “Ee Sala Cup Namdu!” as one. Finally this momentous occasion has arrived; they deserve every bit of it.
RCB vs PBKS 2025 Qualifier 4
RCB have successfully captured their second IPL trophy since 2009 after defeating Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier 4.
PBKS struggled to 154/6 before succumbing to a masterclass by RCB bowlers who quickly reduced them to 101 balls, Josh Hazlewood taking two of three opener wickets while Suyash Sharma and Suraj Ranvijay each picked three wickets each to put RCB firmly in control before Phil Salt struck through their middle and lower orders to help RCB reach their target effortlessly.
No matter the scoreboard or weather. RCB still managed to defeat Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians with enough runs scored during rain-shortened matches and come away as winners, earning them top seed status for Sunday’s second eliminator match between them and them. Kohli made history yet again, sharing last year’s trophy alongside de Villiers and Gayle.
Ahmedabad’s pitch should provide excellent batting conditions. In their recent match against MI at this ground, PBKS recorded an outstanding 243/5 performance to set an example and chase down an ambitious target of 206 in an outstanding display of batsmanship.
Both PBKS and RCB have experienced intense matches this season. Both teams have met twice out of three meetings with RCB taking both wins. A victory by either side would give them an unassailable lead at the top of their respective league tables.
Following their loss against RR in their last game, it will be interesting to see whether PBKS employ the same team or make any necessary changes following Harpreet Brar’s outstanding performance against them in that defeat. Should changes be necessary, Harpreet could possibly return as Harpreet Brar did make an impressive contribution during that loss and could come off the bench again here as she did against them.
Yuzvendra Chahal may return from being rested for the previous match and could play an instrumental role for PBKS in this clash, having made crucial match-winning contributions against two former sides, especially RCB (where he lost both finals). Chahal will look to redeem himself after suffering two disappointing IPL campaigns with both teams that he represented;
