UAE vs. India A

UAE cricket stands out as an Associate member, yet remains among the strongest sides in this format. Boasting world-class stadiums and an expatriate population that keeps it playing regularly at international competitions like World Cup qualifiers and Asia Cups, UAE cricketers have established itself as strong competitors on this format.

The team, led by Darren Sammy, has seen steady improvement throughout its existence and now ranks amongst the top six Associate teams in T20I cricket. Thanks to players such as Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu, their batting department has become one of their strongest assets.

However, one area which needs significant improvement for this team to become competitive T20 side is in their middle order.

Relying heavily on their top-order and not performing regularly against stronger opposition has left the middle order lacking consistent performances against stronger opponents – this team must therefore make some changes within this section in order to become a more formidable T20 outfit.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made quick progress toward his maiden three-figure mark, hitting Harshit Kaushik for four sixes and four fours in an over to reach it in just 38 balls – his inaugural international century! Suryavanshi seems delighted to be experiencing such a milestone feat for himself and is taking delight in each momentous milestone along the way.

Jitesh Sharma hit another costly over for the hosts as 28 runs were scored from it. Jitesh scored his half century off 29 balls with one six over long-off and two fours.

Asian giants were in inspired form as their batsmen amassed an impressive total. India’s bowlers gave no respite for visitors; Kuldeep Yadav had four wickets in just his second over!

UAE’s opening stand of 26 was their lone highlight during the powerplay, but they quickly crumbled during India’s powerful second innings as they exerted their might.

UAE were no match for world champion India as wickets kept falling regularly and they failed to come up with an effective chase plan. Though this defeat may have come as a shock to them, UAE must learn from it and find positives within it.

UAE vs. India B

India B thrashed UAE with an emphatic win to start their Asia Cup defense off right. The hosts entered with confidence after competing well in tri-series but were handed an eye-opening lesson from India’s rampaging team.

Kuldeep Yadav proved instrumental, taking four wickets in his opening over and sending shockwaves through UAE’s ranks before other bowlers contributed wickets as India easily hit their target goal.

In reply, UAE made an impressive start but failed to maintain it. They lost two wickets during the powerplay and never recovered as Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem’s efforts kept the scoreboard moving for them.

The opening pair quickly put their side off to a flying start, scoring 26 runs in just over one over to put themselves into an excellent position.

Unfortunately, Sharafu could not stay at the crease for too long as Jasprit Bumrah bowled him and things began to unravel quickly thereafter. Waseem too was unable to stay put and was eventually dismissed lbw by Kuldeep.

Jitesh Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi added another ten runs to the total in the third over, before Vaibhav was dismissed by Muhammad Rohid Khan whose first over saw him concede only three runs while UAE openers struggled against his tight lines.

Vaidyaraj Ganesh notched two more sixes in the seventh over, pushing the run rate past 240 runs per over. Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his stellar form – hitting two fours and one six during his 17-ball half century but unfortunately missed out on 150 due to being caught at deep extra cover by Muhammad Arfan.

UAE are facing increasing demands as pressure on them mounts; yet they still have over 280 runs left to score within four overs of play. Someone needs to step up for them.

UAE vs. India C

India started their campaign for an Asia Cup title with an emphatic victory against UAE in Dubai. In a match that didn’t last two hours, India dismissed their hosts for just 57 runs before racing towards their target almost effortlessly – Kuldeep Yadav taking four wickets along the way as Kuldeep Yadav made sure they received a hard lesson in cricket.

UAE’s batting struggled against Indian bowlers, though openers Mayank Rajesh Kumar and Alishan Sharafu managed to score some runs early on.

From there on out however, their opposition proved superior; as their top three players including Sharafu and opener Abhishek Sharma departed before they could find any support on the field.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), founded in 1989 and an Associate member of the International Cricket Council that year, has become an established part of UAE sports culture thanks to an increasing expatriate population and cutting-edge facilities.

As an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), UAE has participated in multiple ICC tournaments – most notably 1996 ODI World Cup as an Associate Member – making an impressionful debut that marked an important step towards domestic structure development in their young country.

Though the UAE boasts an established cricketing tradition, participation rates have historically been low. To address this problem, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has implemented professional coaching into local schools and supplied all equipment necessary for students to participate.

Furthermore, an Arabic resource book about cricket was created as well as employing a dedicated Development Officer for cricket education in UAE.

Mohammed Zahid Ahmed of Pakistan-born has been appointed the new UAE coach, following in the footsteps of former fast bowler Naseem Gulzar. Ahmed will focus on rejuvenating UAE batting and developing more potency within their attack, both things they excelled at during 2014 World Cup Super Four against Sri Lanka despite an average record. However, their record in ODIs remains pitiful.

UAE vs. India D

India delivered UAE an emphatic lesson at Dubai as they routed them for just 57. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav struck four times, bowling Alishan Sharafu while captain Muhammad Waseem managed 19 runs before being hit lbw by Varun Aaron and pinged lbw by Varun Aaron.

Middle Eastern nation UAE hosts several major ICC tournaments each year as well as bilateral series against some of the top sides in world cricket. Their T20 side has qualified for multiple World Cup tournaments.

But UAE need to work on their batting, particularly their lower order batting. In this innings they squandered many opportunities for easy runs and never appeared in control of the situation.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit two sixes and fours during this over, racing towards his 50 off 17 balls before being run out on his final attempt.

Young spinner, Arjun Atwal was an absolute disaster with the bat. He conceded numerous runs off leg side boundaries while even his googlies did not prove useful enough for scoring runs.

However, Axar Patel managed to remain composed and bowl with good accuracy, eventually picking up five wickets as Rahul Chopra was caught by Axar Patel long on.

Harshit Kaushik failed to hold onto his pull and was stumped after striking straight to deep extra cover, where an eager fielder ran in from to take a catch.

Naman Dhir was the last wicket to fall, striking a short ball heaving at it and finding himself in trouble against Ashutosh Sharma at deep midwicket, falling backwards without clearing him and caught by Ashutosh Sharma at deep midwicket.

UAE now have five down, their asking rate over 23 and require them to play excellent cricket to chasing down this target and put pressure on Indian batsmen as soon as possible in the later overs. UAE have five overs left to put total runs past India so they need quick scores in next overs two overs which will put pressure on Indian batsmen while keeping their opponents at bay as well.
