Tight End Kyle Pitts Sr.

This week, the Atlanta Falcons placed the franchise tag on tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. and that means he should be considered by any fantasy owner looking to add depth at tight end.

Pitts was instrumental in leading his team to victory on Thursday against Jacksonville – catching 11 out of 12 targets for 166 yards and three touchdowns while playing before 64,917 fans at Raymond James Stadium – marking career highs for this former Panther tight end.

Pitts scored on eight-yard and 17-yard passes from quarterback Kirk Cousins for scores that gave Atlanta a 14-10 advantage before halftime, before also scoring on a 7-yard pass during the fourth quarter – becoming only the second Falcons tight end ever to do so this season and in team history.

Pitts is on track to have his most impressive year yet at age 28. He’s recorded 15 touchdowns this season – more than any Atlanta Falcons tight end has scored since Bobby Wade back in 1996! Additionally, Pitts surpassed 1,000 receiving yards again for an unprecedented fourth time and is the only NFL tight end with more than that figure this season.

One key component of his success lies in having such an exceptional supporting cast around him. On offense, this includes left tackle Chris Chester and center Michael Turner who have both performed admirably this season; defensively, cornerback Dee Alford leads all corners in interceptions this year with four, along with safeties Xavier Watts and Jessie Bates all contributing significantly.

Jameis Winston has been outstanding this season in terms of passing game play. He’s made few errors with regards to throwing touchdown passes to tight end Mike Evans and creating separation on long receptions – something former Eagles QB Carson Wentz often did against the Falcons. We should keep an eye out for him against them this Sunday.

Running Back Michael Penix Jr.

First quarter misfires by Buccaneers kicker Mike Nugent included two missed field goals and an unforced turnover, yet still kept their team in front. Atlanta held them to just one first down and two punts during the second quarter; blocked one punt; blocked another punt and scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to close out the win for them.

With their victory, the Falcons improved to 7-5 and secured a playoff berth. Furthermore, they took three straight road victories against Buccaneers to win season series for first time since 2008.

Michael Penix Jr. started the game and completed 16 of 24 passes for 221 yards and one 50-yard touchdown pass – more than any rookie quarterback has accomplished thus far in franchise history!

Penix also recorded two touchdown passes in the opening half, marking his career first multiple passing scores in one game and becoming only the second Falcons quarterback ever to throw for 300+ pass yards, 75% completion rate, and two touchdowns passes all at once.

On defense, Falcons linebacker Kaden Elliss had another impressive showing for Atlanta this season by recording at least one sack and forcing a fumble in every game this year – becoming only player on team with double figures for tackles for loss in eight consecutive years!

The Falcons forced a turnover on downs on Buccaneers’ opening defensive drive of the game, becoming only the sixth team ever in franchise history to do so on their opening offensive possession of any given game.

In 2025 NFL Draft, Atlanta Falcons selected Jaxson Dart from Texas A&M University as running back. Though early results indicate potential, Dart is far from being reliable; currently he averages only around 3.2 yards per carry and has scored just one touchdown this year.

Wide Receiver Bijan Robinson

The Falcons acquired Robinson in 2023 and since then he has emerged as one of the league’s most dynamic players. Since 2025 he has amassed 1,4778 yards rushing and caught 198 passes for 1,738 yards and nine touchdowns; only player ever in NFL history to reach that threshold both simultaneously!

Earlier this season against Tampa Bay he recorded his longest rushing touchdown ever, also reaching five games this year with over 100 scrimmage yards per game!

On his initial possession after a touchback, Robinson quickly advanced the ball from 35 to the Bucs 25 via three-yard run and Cousins’ swing pass; but then held penalties nudged them back 10 yards; furthermore a third-down pass to Pitts was incomplete.

Early in the game, he caught two passes for 56 yards and is one of three players to have attained 30 catches and five receiving touchdowns this season.

On Thursday, his 195 scrimmage yards broke the Falcons franchise record for most rushing yards in a game and were the highest by any Falcon under 24 years old since Michael Turner rushed for 208 against the Rams in 2008. Overall he totaled 229 total scrimmage yards (229 rushing, 34 receiving), surpassing Christian McCaffrey’s previous mark of 2,255 set back in 2018.

In the fourth quarter, he scored his third touchdown of the night on a 14-yard run to become the fastest Falcon ever to reach 30 scrimmage touchdowns with 29; additionally, he tied for most receiving touchdowns this season with eight.

Falcons defense held off Buccaneers late rally and secured victory through Zane Gonzalez’s 45-yard field goal as time ran out. Following this game, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield lamented two bad throws that contributed to their defeat; James Pearce Jr. also had eight sacks on him this year, surpassing Hall-of-Famer Claude Humphrey’s franchise record by one.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield

Baker Reagan Mayfield (born April 14, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Previously he won college football’s Heisman Trophy while attending Texas Tech and Oklahoma, becoming the first walk-on player ever. In 2022 he was traded from Cleveland Browns to Bucs where he has led them to two consecutive division titles under his leadership.

In Week 17, he recorded his second passing touchdown of the year from 23 yards out, as well as four yards rushing – making him only the fourth player ever in NFL history to record both rushing and throwing touchdowns within one game.

The Bucs had won six straight games against the Falcons – their longest winning streak ever in this rivalry – until their streak was broken by an exciting comeback win by Atlanta from double-digit down in the final minutes.

Even after their defeat, the Falcons remain competitive for an NFC South championship. Although tied with Panthers and Saints for first place, Panthers edged them out due to head-to-head records between all three. Still, Falcons running back Michael Turner has been impressive throughout this year and could lead his team toward playoffs berth.

In his most recent game against the Bucs, he passed for over 300 yards and two touchdowns en route to being awarded Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors. Additionally, rookie wide receiver David Sills V received his inaugural touchdown pass from him during this process.

Before the match began, players exchanged Twitter barbs. This was likely owing to Falcons defensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens having once served as offensive coordinator of Buccaneers and Mayfield tweeting a video mocking Kitchens’ body language after making an impressive play, seen by many as an indirect insult towards his former offensive coordinator.
