India vs Australia ODI Series
India and Australia cricket series is widely recognized and fiercely competitive worldwide. Since their initial encounters in ODIs and Tests back in the early 80s, this rivalry has only become fiercer – having featured prominently at major international tournaments like ICC Cricket World Cup and Champions Trophy competitions respectively.
Australia have proven themselves far more successful overall, having claimed 10 trophies compared to India’s seven.
India won the series 2-1. The inaugural Test took place from 6-10 December at Sydney Cricket Ground. India won the toss and elected to bat.
Although they initially struggled at first, Sachin Tendulkar and Cheteshwar Pujara eventually helped India reach 400 runs before Australia set their target of 526 runs for victory – Michael Clarke scored two double hundreds while Simon Katich and Jason Gillespie helped reach that mark down the order.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat, leading them to 388 runs on day 3. India struggled against this score until Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman combined for an astounding 149 in the final session of day 3, thus helping India reach 287 all out and win by 72 runs.
India and Australia will play three ODIs before concluding their series at the SCG. Both sides have made several adjustments to their squads;
Jasprit Bumrah has been replaced by Axar Patel while other fast bowlers include Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna – while KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, wicketkeeper-batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal will make up India’s batting lineup. India vs Australia T20 Series
India and Australia T20 series is an annual bilateral Twenty20 cricket competition between the two nations, held over five games with one match hosted in each country.
The winner of the series receives the Border-Gavaskar Trophy – named for legendary cricketers Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar – upon its completion. Matches typically last five days each. Played annually between India and Australia, winning teams receive one point per victory added to their tally which then determines their place within T20 world rankings.
The series began with a rain-affected washout in Canberra, but India responded strongly with two victories in Hobart and a 48-run triumph at Carrara.
Following another draw in Melbourne, Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav led his side to victory for an overall 2-1 triumph Down Under.
After their win, India celebrated in the stands before immediately heading back into their training camp. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed them and congratulated them for all of their hard work; further encouraging them to keep pushing themselves.
The inaugural One Day International was an exciting affair. India took the early lead thanks to an outstanding 212-run partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the first innings; but Australia hit back through Daniel Christian and Peter Handscomb putting on an unbroken 147 run partnership before umpires called for stumps to be raised.
India struggled in their second innings but were led by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to achieve a respectable total of 275-5 – the latter becoming the fastest batsman ever to amass 1000 T20 runs with only 28 innings played!
Australia’s batting lineup features experienced players like Meg Lanning, Rachel Haynes and Amanda-Jade Wellington; however, due to injuries suffered by Jess Jonassen and Sophie Molineux the squad will be severely depleted and must find other means to secure victory.

As India prepares to participate in their fourth consecutive T20 World Cup tournament, they aim to cement their place amongst the sport’s elite teams. India have all of the talent and resources available to them to do just this – though fan engagement will need to improve as part of this quest.
Harmanpreet Kaur leads India, and this season she’s hoping to set several records. Already reaching 4000 ODI runs and on her way to becoming the first Indian female player ever to reach 4500, as well as reaching 300 international wickets (she already passed 250), is looking set for success this season.
Renuka Singh will return and is considered one of the top candidates to replace Smriti Mandhana as captain; she impressed during the ODI World Cup as well.
Australia will tour India for the first time since their last tour in 2021, starting in Canberra on October 31 and then continuing in Melbourne on November 2. Their most prominent players include Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis Tim David Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa.

India-Australia rivalry is among the fiercest in international cricket, having played 35 Test matches between them since 1971; Australia holds an edge when it comes to overall wins, though India does have some impressive moments over time.

The 2022-23 Border Gavaskar Trophy series will be an international test series between India and Australia, playing five test matches over seven matches at Bellerive Oval in Melbourne to commemorate 75 years of friendship between these nations.
India won the toss and elected to bat, amassing 517 runs on day one under Ravichandran Ashwin’s 277 runs. Australia were all out for just 212 after losing Virender Sehwag early in their second innings; tea came at 131 for eight wickets with Harbhajan Singh taking 7-133 wickets against them.
India earned an emphatic win in the second test, even while suffering the losses of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma, but more than made up for their absence with superb innings from Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay. Australia struggled again at bat, leading Michael Clarke to declare at 237/9. India responded by scoring an innings and 135 runs with Tendulkar and Sehwag making key contributions.
The third and final test match took place in Chennai. It was an close contest until Jemimah Rodrigues hit her only six of her career in the final over, giving India victory – making history of Indian women’s cricket in doing so! Her impressive innings will long stand the test.
