India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bat first. Sai Sudharsan made his T20I debut by replacing Khaleel Ahmed.
Bishnoi bowls the 18th over, Myers hits him for four and attempts a reverse sweep but is unsuccessful in doing so.
Abhishek Sharma has been dismissed. He had the chance of scoring a hundred, but fell short. In this article, we will discuss the main points of India National Cricket Team Vs Zimbabwe National Cricket Team Match Scorecard.
Scorecard India National Cricket Team Vs Zimbabwe National Cricket Team
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza won the toss and elected to bowl first, choosing Yashasvi Jaiswal as an opener who hit two consecutive dot balls for sixes! Zimbabwe took an early advantage when Sikandar Raza decided not to bowl more Dot Balls which Yashasvi Jaiswal responded to by hitting both for SIXES!
Abhishek Sharma joined his teammates, but his stay was short lived when he was trapped leg before wicket by Blessing Muzarabani and then was caught at short midwicket off Richard Ngarava after miscuing one of his short balls.
As it appeared to start off poorly for the home side, they lost three wickets quickly in the Powerplay. But Dion Myers and Clive Madande responded well by playing some smart cricket – both displayed a combination of aggression and caution to help ease them towards a respectable total.
But fate had different plans for them as Washington Sundar came back strong with his spin bowling and dismissed two batsmen to secure India victory by 42 runs and go top of the series.
Washington Sundar was named Player of the Match after an outstanding performance with the ball, saying it felt great playing for his country and commending Myers and Madande on their impressive innings.
Mukesh Kumar excelled with the ball as he conceded only four runs in each over, ably supported by Tushar Deshpande and Ravi Bishnoi.
Zimbabwe began their fifth over with some singles before Tushar convinced Brandon Mavuta to hit a FOUR! And then lofted another ball over short third fielder for another four!
Riyan Parag attempted a reverse-sweep but failed, then attempted a pull but both attempts missed both times. Muzarabani eventually returned and Riyan hit him for four!
Shashi Thakur then comes in and bowls a slow ball that does not appeal to either Mavuta or the umpires, going away from him and off his bat before hitting Mavuta instead of hitting the stumps – and Thakur catches Mavuta out! At this point, the score stands at 121/7 after 15 overs.
India: 125 for 4
Players from both teams have come out for their national anthems and will soon begin playing their match.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza won the toss and chose to bowl first, confident that conditions will improve over the course of the match and his team could contend well in a chase scenario.
Zimbabwe openers Innocent Kaia and Wessly Madhevere made early inroads against Indian bowlers with some runs from Innocent Kaia scoring four runs off Indian bowlers before running out of partners; Mukesh Kumar sent back Kaia in his third over while Madhevere was sent back by Mukesh in his fifth over – both wickets fell within six overs courtesy of Mukesh who conceded 16 runs!
Tushar Deshpande was next in line to face scrutiny from Zimbabwe batsmen. After beginning with two dot balls in an over, Deshpande delivered one fuller delivery that Bennett cut for four runs! India increased their lead by 13 in this over.
The next over was one to remember for the visitors as Mukesh castled Bennett but wicket fell at an inopportune moment when Wessly Madhevere ran out of partners. Madhevere then targeted wristspinner Ravi Bishnoi and struck four fours and two sixes to take his total score up to 46 off 29 balls.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance and highlighted its need to keep performing strongly. He noted how spirit and skills would help them close out this series effectively. Furthermore, he applauded spinners and pacers’ roles.
Leg-spinner Brandon Mavuta of Zimbabwe comes on to bowl. His over begins with some Dot Balls before he castles Riyan Parag, then concedes two singles and a free hit hit in one over, including Sanju taking one off a delivery before Zimbabwe fielders misfield twice and India take advantage of this by scoring several runs off fielders’ errors and fielder mishaps before ending with Riyan scoring one more single off his final delivery in an over. India are playing well; weather conditions in Harare are sunny without threat of rain; crowd expectations should be large while this match will be broadcast live via Sony TEN 3 and Sony TEN 5 with English commentary and Hindi commentary respectively.
Zimbabwe: 125 for 6
Dion Myers’s resilient performance at the back end ensured the home side didn’t suffer too heavily, while Sanju Samson hit an unbeaten 58 and Shivam Dube scored 26 before losing wickets at regular intervals – Blessing Muzarabani picking up two important scalps for India as India posted 167/6 against their hosts.
Indian bowlers produced consistent runs-scoring over the final 10 overs, but Zimbabwean batsmen could not keep pace. Had they taken more opportunities on field, Zimbabwe might have come closer.
Misfielding and runout errors caused them to lose four wickets in the 19th over, but Mukesh Kumar’s next delivery proved too good for Ngarava as he attempted to hit it but got caught fumbling it in. Mukesh’s fourth over of the innings went for just six runs as he maintained pressure on their batsmen.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma, two well-known for their powerful hitting ability, will likely open for India. This would force captain Shubman Gill into batting down in his preferred order position of openers.
Clive Madande and Dion Myers found some relief after a slow start, forming an alliance for over nine overs at third wicket – helping ensure their home side didn’t lose by an overwhelming margin but nevertheless still playing poorly enough to cause their side defeat.
Sikandar Raza and his team will look to secure victory in this fifth and final T20I, but will need to perform at their best, particularly in terms of batting performance, in order to do so.
India will need only to win their next T20I match to open up an unassailable 3-0 lead in this five-match series and secure their position atop the table. Their batsmen have been in stellar form while bowlers led by Blessing Muzarabani have also provided support. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will want to avoid being whitewashed by India and fight hard for pride as this fifth T20I begins at Gogaran Sports Complex in Kolkata at 4:30 PM IST.
India win by 42 runs
India earned a 4-1 series victory against Zimbabwe with an emphatic 42-run win in the fifth and final T20I at Harare’s Wanderers Stadium on Sunday. Sanju Samson contributed an outstanding half century, helping India reach 167/6 before Mukesh Kumar, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube’s superb dismissals reduced Zimbabwe to only 125 runs against them to seal an impressive turnaround in proceedings.
Zimbabwe opener Wessly Madhevere was the first batsman to fall when bowled by Mukesh in the second over, but his loss didn’t derail Zimbabwe as they continued battling thanks to powerful batsmen Tadiwanashe Marumani (27) and Dion Myers (34) who regularly hit pacer Tushar Deshpande and wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi with fierce shots.
In the middle overs, the hosts struggled with running between wickets and eventually fell prey to Mukesh’s spinners once again, losing more wickets as Marumani attempted a slog sweep across the line and failed to get his foot under one full delivery from around the wicket. Mukesh nearly claimed one more when he pegged back his stumps off an off-cut from a delivery around the wicket with an attempt at an inside edge but umpire missed that decision due to him trying for an alternate shot which resulted in him getting his foot under one delivery from around the wicket with full delivery from around the wicket; unfortunately umpire missed his decision as batsman attempted an attempted to go for an aggressive play-slog sweep across line shot from Mukesh which missed its mark when hit off-cutter missed it by one wicket; Mukesh could have claimed another when Mukesh pegged back Marumani off a full delivery but umpire missed it due to batsman trying for slog sweep across line shot off an outside delivery but no decision had been taken as batsman trying for an inside-edge off-to-hit delivery off full delivery from around wicket.
Bishnoi relieved some pressure when Myers was dismissed in his fourth over, with Zimbabwean batter fending off and not making contact on his pull shot. Dube ran out struggling skipper Sikandar Raza (8) with an excellent direct hit at bowler’s end in 13th over.
Mukesh scored his best and fifth T20I haul when he had Johnathan Campbell caught at gully, while Dube wrapped things up by getting Myers lbw with a short ball in the 15th over. To secure victory for India, Samson and Riyan Parag added 65 runs between them for fourth wicket to ease Indian task. Mukesh had already struck twice – an outstanding spell that included four maidens – which earned his career-best figures of 4/22; Washington provided support by first snagging Campbell with slow delivery during Power Play before trapping Myers on straight drive off Washington.
