Pakistan vs Sri Lanka
Pakistan secured an impressive victory in their inaugural T20I by following through on their game plan from start to finish, successfully executing it all the way.
They won the toss and elected to field, taking control immediately with Wasim and Salman’s early attacks through Sri Lankan top order while Babar Azam’s composure kept Pakistan fully under their own control.
Sri Lanka struggled to gain any ground in their innings and never looked likely to amass an impressive total. Plagued by poor shot selection and wickets falling regularly, they failed to gain momentum and build any sort of momentum – as evidenced by regular wicket falls.
Pakistan, on the other hand, won quickly in just 16.4 overs. They excelled in every facet of cricket – from batting to bowling – while remaining composed to close out the match without difficulty.
Cricket in Pakistan dates back to 1935, although its modern incarnation dates from 1952 with independence and full membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Since then, Pakistan has produced some great cricketers, such as Abdul Hafeez Kardar and Fazal Mahmood.
Today, the men’s team ranks sixth in Test cricket, first in ODI cricket and third in IT20 cricket respectively. Led by Babar Azam – one of modern cricket’s most dynamic and unpredictable batsmen – their captain, while women’s team ranks seventh overall and sixth for IT20 cricket led by Nida Dar and Fatima Sana respectively.
