Australia vs India

On Saturday, Australia and India will play their fifth and final Twenty20 International match at Brisbane’s Gabba. India needs to win in order to even out their series while Australia seeks its fourth successive white-ball win Down Under.

Australian team management have made some key adjustments, with Mitchell Starc returning and Matt Short being added as batsmen – this should bring much-needed depth into their side.

Both teams boast impressive records in T20Is against one another, with Australia winning nine of 14 matches played between them and India winning four.

When it comes to ODIs, however, Australia holds an edge with nine victories out of 14 won compared with India’s four.

India struggled to score runs in Perth’s inaugural T20I, managing only 125 runs off 37 balls. Abhishek Sharma led with an unbeaten 68 off 37 deliveries before Harshit Rana and Shubman Gill provided some crucial assistance down the order.

India will remain hopeful after their disappointing result in Perth that their fortunes can improve in Brisbane, having won both T20Is at The Gabba previously. They hope to complete a clean sweep in this series.

The pitch at The Gabba continues to live up to its international reputation for fast bowlers. Offering excellent pace and bounce for fast bowling games, its ideal conditions allow fast bowlers to perform at their best.

As is typically the case in T20Is, both sides will look to attack at every opportunity. The visitors will look to score big numbers in an attempt to clinch the series while their hosts aim for victory in what will be their first visit back to their venue since 2008.

There has been great anticipation and interest surrounding this matchup and fans are keen to witness two teams who have long held an intense rivalry face off on home ground. Their last meeting came in 2023 when Australia defeated India in the World Cup final.

Australia A vs India A

The Australian men’s national cricket team, commonly referred to as the Kangaroos, represent Australia in international men’s cricket competition.

Administered by Cricket Australia, its administration includes Pat Cummins as Test captain; Rohit Sharma for ODIs and Hardik Pandya for T20Is respectively, under coaches Rahul Dravid (batting), Vikram Rathour (bowling) and Paras Mhambrey (fielding).

They compete at various ICC tournaments such as Trophy, World Cup or Champions Trophy tournaments and are one of most successful touring sides ever; winning six World Cup titles as well as four Ashes series victories overall!

Australia and India share one of the greatest rivalries in cricket history. Over three centuries of play between them has resulted in an epic rivalry, with both nations meeting 304 times across all forms of play – Australia winning 146 times to India’s 114 wins – starting with 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final, won by Australia.

Since then they have met three more times at other ICC Cricket World Cup tournaments plus many ODI and T20I matches.

Nathan McSweeney led Australia A to an unbeaten 88 on Day Two against India A at Melbourne Cricket Ground and helped guide them to a daunting total of 73 for 5.

Prasidh Krishna was particularly effective with four wickets while Marcus Harris registered an excellent unbeaten 74 which further strengthened his chances of opening alongside Usman Khawaja for Thursday’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series.

There was some brief turmoil over the ball when umpire Shawn Craig decided to switch it during India A’s final morning of play in Mackay. This decision provoked angry protests from players from India A and caused play to be delayed as players took issue with it.

Craig later explained his reasoning by explaining it had been changed for “technical reasons,” yet this still left Indian players shocked; wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan accused Craig of making a “stupid decision”, threatening Cricket Australia of misconduct as they made protest against his decision.
