KKR vs SRH Live Updates

KKR will look to end their season on an optimistic note by defeating SRH. Both teams currently lie sixth in the table, so victory would grant either of them entry into the top four – something they would surely welcome after suffering through such an unsuccessful mid-season stretch.

Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first at Arun Jaitley Stadium, believing the pitch would provide ideal conditions for batsman. Cummins wanted his side’s season finale to end on a positive note.

The visitors struggled to maintain a consistent length throughout their innings and found themselves needing 278 runs to win this game. Ajinkya Rahane was particularly unfortunate as he missed out on both a hat-trick and an ODI record, after failing to take an infield catch running backwards from mid-off. Additionally, two no balls came his way when mishit one and survived another misfire that was adjudged no ball by umpires but still counted against him.

Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen continued their attack against KKR bowlers with Sharma scoring his 17-ball 50 while Klaasen hit three sixes off Jaydev Unadkat in one over. Together they created an explosive 50-run partnership but it ultimately fell short of victory for their side.

KKR’s bowlers struggled to find an even length, with Anrich Nortje and Vaibhav Arora struggling to contain the run-flow. Sunil Narine did manage to gain some control in his 13th over by dismissing Head and conceding only one single run – only for Klaasen to hit him for consecutive sixes in quick succession to bring up an amazing hundred score!

At a crucial stage of the match, SRH needed to make some key changes to their bowling. Ishan Kishan and Shakib Al Hasan were brought in as fresh legs into their line-up.

However, the bowlers were unable to contain KKR’s aggressive run chase with Head and Abhishek producing an unbroken 50-run stand for the seventh wicket within 19 balls – with Head contributing 41 of them while Abhishek added 29 more runs to bring their partnership up to 50 runs for just 7 wickets in only 19 balls!

The pair look set to surpass KKR’s highest seventh-wicket partnership of 71 against RCB from their last game and should prove a formidable threat in their pursuit. Klaasen made sure SRH secured an easy win courtesy of his 100, ending their season on five straight losses at home. At the conclusion of their campaign, KKR secured three wins to end strong. Their hope will be that Shreyas Iyer can lead them back into success when they defend their title next season.
