RCB continued their dew-induced misery as they were routed at Wankhede by MI. Ishan Kishan and Surakkumar Yadav struck fifties to make an absolute mockery of their target.
Faf du Plessis believes it was difficult for his side to accept their loss due to dew’s influence in the game, yet is pleased with their bowling performance.

MI vs RCB
Wankhede Stadium has always been kind to Mumbai Indians, with MI emerging victorious seven times out of 10 matches played there since 2016. They remain favourites this time too due to the quality of their batsmen and world-renowned bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
Kishan Kumar and Ishan Kishan are two outstanding overseas players for them, while Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sagar can provide crucial contributions if necessary. Furthermore, Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini have shown promise early this season with their spinners Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini having great early seasons for spin bowling duties.
RCB’s primary issue has been one of consistency. Over the last few seasons, they have suffered from bad form in key games which has cost them dearly. Although they possess a talented core team and possess an influential owner in India, their weakness must be addressed immediately if they wish to compete on an equal footing with rival franchises.
RCB also faces problems from their rivalry with Hyderabad franchises; particularly Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers from Hyderabad who can compromise RCB’s campaigns, especially during finals.
Even after their ineffective start to the season, RCB have the potential to win it all if they play to their potential and rectify any mistakes made during matches. They boast several match-winners in their ranks along with a talented squad led by an exceptional coach.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, or simply RCB, is an Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket club based out of Bengaluru that was established in 2008 under United Spirits’ Royal Challenge brand of alcohol. Home matches take place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium while their active fan base has come to be known as “Bold Army.”
MI win
Mumbai Indians reached the final after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore, facing Chennai Super Kings and winning through outstanding bowling from Malinga and Harbhajan Singh – with Malinga picking up key wickets like Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli, leading to an inning-long collapse that resulted in Bangalore being bowled out for just 108 runs – giving Mumbai their inaugural IPL title victory by 31 runs!
Rohit Sharma displayed great class with the bat as he led Mumbai to 187/5 after 20 overs, playing an unbeaten 51-ball innings unflappably without taking unnecessary risks. Kieron Pollard and Dinesh Karthik provided crucial runs, helping Rohit finish unbeaten.
Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers both perished during the Powerplay, making RCB’s task difficult in reaching their target. Mayank Markande and Krunal Pandya were especially careful not to allow any easy runs to their opposition batsmen during their spells.
Home side started their chase off strong, quickly moving towards their target with relative ease. Just when things looked over, Ishan Kishan struck an unplayable six over midwicket off McClenaghan to put them ahead by seven wickets with just two overs remaining in their innings.
At such an early point in the match, it seemed inevitable that the hosts would go on to win and secure their place in the playoffs. Yet they only increased their lead with each passing ball!
Mumbai Indians took on Rajasthan Royals in their final league stage match of the season earlier today and needed to beat them by a significant margin to claim fourth playoff position and secure it.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started well, scoring runs quickly for their side. Unfortunately, however, after just a few overs were complete they found themselves reduced to 12/3 as RR’s bowlers took control and quickly decimated their middle order.
However, they staged an impressive comeback and Jos Buttler, KP Kamath and Krunal Pandya picked up key wickets to keep the run rate under control before Jasprit Bumrah struck in the 19th over to send back AB de Villiers for another game – something no other bowler was able to achieve!
This match was one of the greatest matches in IPL history and will long be remembered. Both teams put forth their best performance to delight fans at Wankhede Stadium – this match being one of our favorites of this season and season thus far.
