Pakistan vs Afghanistan T20 Series
Pakistan spinners made for an incredible T20 Tri-Series final against Afghanistan as their chase on a slow Sharjah track was frustrated.
Mohammad Nawaz was particularly impressive, collecting four wickets quickly before turning back around and dismissing Rashid Khan to seal an emphatic 75-run win for Pakistan.
Fazalhaq Farooqi set the tone early with two wickets in the powerplay to leave their opposition reeling, with Saim Ayub being caught behind off an mistimed pull shot and Mohammad Haris holed out to short third man off Nabi.
Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal both managed half centuries but could not capitalize on these promising starts.
Pakistan spinners put on an incredible spinners’ performance during the middle overs. Nabi and Mohammad Asif both took two wickets within three overs off Mohammad Asif; Ayub was caught off Asif at deep fine leg while Mohammad Haris hit Nabi out to short leg off a low full toss to short leg for four runs, before debutant Allah Mohammad got one wicket himself by bowling Shaheen Afridi off Nabi himself – in just his first appearance of any tournament game ever!
Pakistan spinners then quickly finished off Afghanistan’s innings to seal their dominance and seal Mohammad Nabi’s fate, trapping him lbw with a googly in the penultimate over.
Noor Ahmad sealed their win by clean-bowling Rahmanullah Gurbaz for no runs with a leg side full toss delivery – providing Afghanistan a much-needed run-out opportunity which was not realized due to Pakistan spinners’ efforts.
Salman Agha was delighted with his team’s bowlers after an outstanding bowling performance in this match, noting that 170 was easily achievable and crediting their efforts as being outstanding.
Additionally, he applauded Zadran and Atal’s batting, calling them both class players who will do great things for Pakistan at international tournaments like Asia Cup. In response, the captain stressed how they plan on backing everyone in pursuit mode as a chase side and will give opportunities for every individual ahead of the Asia Cup tournament.
Pakistan vs Afghanistan T20I Series
Pakistan’s spinners delivered another impressive win and gained momentum ahead of the Asia Cup, particularly Mohammad Nawaz’s control and canny off-spin which caused Afghanistan’s innings to collapse for just 66 runs; only Sediqullah Atal and Ibrahim Zadran managed to score over 20.
This match saw 29.5 overs of spin bowling between full member teams for T20I, the second-most ever seen in such an international.
Not only is that an impressive feat but it demonstrates how challenging it can be defending such an impressive total in Sharjah.
Afghanistan’s chase was frenetic from the outset and they could never recover from early wicket losses. Though they hit some boundaries early on, Afghanistan never established any kind of control over their innings and ultimately fell short by an enormous margin.
Early this season, Afghanistan were scheduled to compete in a three-match bilateral T20I series against Pakistan; however, that was later converted into a tri-series; marking the first time both teams have faced each other head on in a high-pressure environment in Pakistan since diplomatic relations between both nations have worsened.
The top two from each group will advance to compete in an eight-team ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup starting 7 September in Sharjah Cricket Stadium; each side will play twice before meeting for final. It will serve as warm-up competition prior to main event.
Pakistan vs Afghanistan Test Series
Both neighbouring teams boast an illustrious cricket history, competing in every edition of the International Cricket Council T20I tournament since 2013.
Furthermore, both sides enjoy fierce rivalries off the field which manifest into fiery matches when meeting one-off T20Is and Test matches – recent meetings between these sides have demonstrated both their brilliance and bitter rivalry!
Pakistan’s spinners excelled on Thursday to give Pakistan a decisive 75-run win against Afghanistan and win the tri-series in Sharjah by dominating Mohammad Nawaz’s five-wicket haul that included one hat-trick to claim victory and seal off the tri-series win.
Afghanistan slumped from 95 all out into all out against their spin opponents with just 6 wickets remaining after Nawaz had taken 5 for 6. Mohammad Nawaz also bagged three wickets himself before sending five wickets his way in this triumphant performance helped Pakistan claim all three victories from all three tournaments as Mohammad Nawaz took 5 for 5 wickets during this matchup, taking all out Afghan batsmen by bowling 5 for 10 wickets to claim 5 wickets to finish off this tri-series win!
Nawaz started his brilliant day at work by using his clever piece of flight to force Ibrahim Zadran out of his crease, before effortlessly whipping off his bails with an outstanding piece of work. Just after halfway mark he added another wicket by trapping Karin Janat front with another stunning piece of flight.
Afghanistan struggled against spin bowlers, with only Sediqullah Atal and Ibrahim Zadran reaching half-centuries from their disappointing total of 141 runs.
A few quick wickets compounded their problems further before their innings collapsed into confusion that saw Haris Rauf reach 30 for visitors.
Pakistan have taken an important step toward Asia Cup 2018 next week with this victory. Skipper Salman Agha says their aim was always to reach around 170 and give their spinners the best opportunity possible, and is very pleased with Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad and Allah Mohammad’s performances, adding that their variety will prove immensely helpful in UAE conditions.
Furthermore he appreciates Sediqullah Atal (who scored an outstanding half century) and Ibrahim Zadran for their fighting efforts during this innings.
