After 34 matches between these teams since that point, MI have held onto an advantage with 19 victories so far; however, since RCB made history by breaking through at Wankhede for their 2025 Wankhede breakthrough this rivalry has become one of the most intense in IPL history. Nat Sciver-Brunt
Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 10-Ball fifty and Nadine de Klerk’s hat-trick of wickets were pivotal to Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s shock win against Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Women’s Indian Premier League (WPL) tournament opener.
After starting at 65-5 in the eighth over and reaching 121-7 after 17 overs, De Klerk returned RCB with six wickets off six balls off her last three to leave MI needing 29 off two overs; Amelia Kerr misplayed off first ball before Nat clubbed over Sciver-Brunt who finished 63 not out while also collecting 4-26 as she continued her incredible run-out streak! She finished as she claimed four wickets to seal an unlikely win; finishing 63 not out with 4-26 overall!
Harmanpreet Kaur
Harmanpreet Kaur earned her maiden WPL 2026 victory with Mumbai Indians by scoring an unprecedented 10th fifty-plus score along with crucial partnerships with Nicola Carey and Amanjot Kaur on Tuesday at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, earning the Player of the Match award after an outstanding performance.
Michele Iyer was visibly frustrated when MI missed an easy win in the 19th over, needing only 29 runs to chase. Nat Sciver-Brunt dropped Nadine de Klerk’s mistimed swipe at long off first ball; and Kamalini failed to catch her return catch cleanly as she lunged forward for another run – all this after Nat Sciver-Brunt dropped de Klerk’s miscued shot with first ball from long off!
But, the World Cup champion emphasized the need for improvement as a group. “We gave away chances and didn’t bowl well in that last over,” he noted.
Radha Yadav
Left-arm spinner De Klerk was taken for one single in her opening over, but in her second over she used long levers and brute force to hit three fours with big hits between midwicket and deep square leg for three fours – leaving MI’s top order defenseless until the very end. While it wasn’t easy, she put on an incredible performance by fighting back so effectively! It wasn’t an easy game either but their bowlers’ efforts to keep De Klerk at bay was truly amazing!
